Lison Paris' commitment to ecological packaging
The impact on the environment caused by plastic or synthetic packaging has reached critical levels, and many brands are questioning the use of "traditional" packaging.
Indeed, they accumulate, they are not always recycled and take a long time to degrade naturally in the environment. Who hasn't seen plastic bottles floating on the water during summer outings? Plastic packaging is everywhere and is destroying our planet.
Unlike eco-friendly packaging, conventional packaging has an undeniable negative impact on ecosystems and even on human health.
These environmental concerns are affecting consumers who are increasingly demanding eco-friendly packaging.
More than 50% of consumers now say that the durability and biodegradability of packaging are important factors in their purchasing decisions.
So it's safe to say that switching to sustainable packaging is no longer an option for brands, it's a necessity. So what are the options available?
But what is sustainable packaging?
Eco-friendly packaging is packaging that limits its impact on the environment. This means that it limits the resources and energy needed for its manufacture and transport and can be reused at the end of its life. We don't talk about recycling anymore... An eco-responsible packaging is :
- Safe and healthy for people and nature throughout its life cycle
- Extracted, manufactured, transported and recycled using renewable energy
- Physically designed to minimize the use of materials and energy
- Potentially recycled in an efficient manner
- Ecological materials used by Lison Paris in packaging
The brand has been using corn starch bags for several years now for all B2C and B2B shipments... Why? Cornstarch-based packaging is made from biodegradable materials and is ideal for limited-use products, such as bags to protect your orders during transport. Cornstarch is a great option for environmentally friendly packaging.
Do you know what biodegradable material is?
A biodegradable material breaks down into natural elements found in nature when exposed to air, moisture, light... Like our cornstarch bags! They eventually disappear completely and leave no trace of their existence.
In our warehouse we don't have plastic bags anymore. All of our swimwear is compartmentalized in simple cardboard boxes with cardboard size dividers, reusable for each new collection. What you need to know about cardboard:
- A simple recycled cardboard box is also over 80% biodegradable.
- Cardboard is a biodegradable material
- Cardboard is recyclable
- Cardboard is reusable
Moreover, in France, 65% of cardboard is recycled: We recover the wood fibers, called cellulose to recreate other cardboard. But we can also make paper or wood-based panels to make furniture. All cardboard boxes, if they are not soiled, are recyclable.
A cardboard box is therefore doubly ecological!
Of course there are other materials such as biodegradable plastic (which decomposes when exposed to daylight and is an excellent alternative to plastic), bagasse (sugar cane pulp) or reed fiber developed in Japan...
The important thing is to be aware that every gesture counts and that the future of our planet depends on each of us, as consumers as well as business leaders. It is essential to make choices that are sustainable and respectful of the environment.
